Farmer, Educator & Agroecologist

I am a farmer and understand the realities of farming because I have lived them.

I understand the risk, the uncertainty, the long days and the burnout. I understand what it means to make decisions when margins are thin and a failed crop can have real consequences. I understand market fluctuations, weeds, pests, disease, weather and the constant pressure of figuring out what needs to happen this week.

I also understand the pride that comes with this work. I know how much it matters when something finally clicks, when a crop thrives, or when you see a small sign that the farm is moving in the right direction. I believe those wins are worth celebrating!

I have been an educator for over 15 years and I have taught over a thousand farmers. I know how to take the subjects of agronomy, soil microbiology and ecology and make them understandable, engaging, and even fun!

My job isn't to give you concrete answers - you know your farm better than anyone. My role is to support you and together we will investigate what might be happening on your farm and why.

I am an agroecologist and look for the connections and patterns that aren't always visible when you're working inside the day-to-day demands of the farm. How are soil, plants, water, biology, management and climate interacting? What is changing over time? Where are the leverage points? And how can we work with the farm's ecological systems rather than continually fighting against them?

I bring these three perspectives together to help farmers understand their farms as living systems and make changes that are both ecologically meaningful and practical for the realities of farming.
